CDPAP allows patients to hire close relatives or friends as caregivers without special certification or licensing. Patients or their representatives are responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and arranging backup coverage for the caregiver. They also coordinate other services and maintain payroll records. The Long term care plan also provides at-home nursing care for those requiring skilled nursing services.
